This is a podcast for Straight Uppers! That is, people who have already joined the Straight-Up Revolution, or who are curious about what it take to do so. I’ll be digging into all of the kinds of information you’ll need to be an effective advocate and recruiter. You’ll be getting a lot of questions and concerns from people, and I know from experience that it can sometimes be hard to find the right reply, especially in the moment. So, I’ll be helping you arm yourself to fight the good fight. I’ll be making my own solo contributions and interviewing knowledgeable people on subjects like sortition, proportional representation, constitutional theory, self-determination theory, networks, biomimetics, entropy and information, viral marketing techniques, etc.
Season One, Episode One: The Straight-Up Pledge. In this inaugural episode, I share an early draft of The Straight Up Pledge. It’s not a pledge you have to sign or raise your right hand and swear to uphold. It is really just a checklist of what you have to have in your head and in your heart to be an effective Straight-Up Revolutionary. We really can create a long-lasting change for the better, and given the precarious times we are living in, it makes a lot of sense to take aggressive action. Think of it like aligning yourself with a political party with only one item in its ‘platform:’ putting the voters in charge. And supporting a ‘candidate,’ Dahlia Hart, who’s only ‘campaign promise’ is to put the voters in charge.
Season One, Episode Two: The Straight-Up Plan: From Conjecture to Proof, Part One
This is a high-level look at what the Straight-Up Plan is all about. I need to convince you to join the Straight-Up Revolution. We need smart, motivated people who understand the urgency and importance of establishing direct democracy in America NOW and not waiting for the powers that be to give us permission. The Straight-Up Plan can be quickly executed once funding and staff are in place. The institutions that exist for ‘democracy reform,’ sadly, lack the agility and vision to pull off this historic transition from oligarchy to democracy. No worries! We can just do it ourselves! It won’t even be that hard, and it’ll be lots of fun!
